<p class="MsoPlainText">Vom 13. bis 16. Juli fand in Frankfurt die International Supercomputing Conference 2015 statt. Mehr als 2850 Teilnehmer bedeuten einen neuen Besucherrekord in der 30-jährigen Geschichte der ISC. Das LRZ war im Rahmen des Gauss Centre
for Supercomputing GCS mit einem Stand und mit vielen Mitarbeitern bei der Konferenz vertreten.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoPlainText">Am Montag wurde die aktuelle Top500-Liste der schnellsten Supercomputer der Welt bekannt gegeben, auf der das LRZ erstmals mit drei Systemen vertreten ist. SuperMUC, der vor genau drei Jahren in Betrieb genommen wurde, belegt den nach
so langer Zeit immer noch sehr guten 20. Platz mit 2,897 Petaflop/s. Die am 29. Juni in Betrieb genommene Phase 2 des SuperMUC liegt sofort dahinter mit 2,814 Petaflop/s. Auch CooLMUC2, Teil des Linux-Clusters am LRZ, schaffte es mit 230,8 Teraflop/s auf
einen beachtlichen Platz 317.<o:p></o:p></p>
