The Open Science Initiative Psychology (OSIP) and the LMU Open Science Center offer a hands-on workshop for scientists of all career levels on the topic of "Advanced Power Analysis". After an introduction to the general principle of power analysis, we will focus on how to determine the size of the expected effect (or the smallest effect of interest) and how power analysis is possible in more complex designs (e.g. multilevel models). There will be space for participants to discuss their own questions.

Participation in the workshop is free and open to all LMU affiliated researchers. However, priority will be given to members of Departments sponsoring the Open Science Center (e.g. Department of Psychology). Non-members will receive confirmation whether their attendance is possible at least 2 days before the workshop.

Depending on the composition of the audience, the event will be held in German or English.

Die Open Science Initiative Psychologie (OSIP) und das LMU Open Science Center bieten am 22.07.2022 von 9 bis 12 Uhr einen praxisorientierten Workshop für Wissenschaftler:innen jeder Karrierestufe zum Thema "Advanced Power Analysis" als Präsenzveranstaltung an. Nach einer Einführung in das allgemeine Prinzip der Poweranalyse gehen wir insbesondere darauf ein, wie die Höhe des erwarteten (oder des kleinsten interessierenden) Effekts bestimmt werden kann, und wie eine Poweranalyse in komplexeren Designs (z.B: Multilevelmodellen) möglich ist. Es wir dRaum geben, dass die Teilnehmer ihre eigenen Fragestellungen diskutieren können.

Die Teilnahme an dem Workshop ist kostenlos und steht allen LMU-Mitgliedern offen. Mitglieder von Sponsoren des Open Science Centers (z.B. Department Psychologie) werden bei der Platzvergabe jedoch bevorzugt behandelt. Nicht-Mitglieder erhalten spätestens 2 Tage vor dem Workshop eine Bestätigung, ob ihre Teilnahme möglich ist.

Die Veranstaltung findet je nach Zusammensetzung des Publikums in deutscher oder englischer Sprache statt.
