The lectures of the crash course in Open Science we are organizing on 27.-29. September in the Faculty of Biology in Martinsried are open to all, LMU members or externals, in-person or on Zoom.

You can register for one, several, or all of them by following the link below.

Day 1: Tuesday 27.09.2022

09:45 - 10:45 Intro to the reproducibility crisis and open science (Tim Parker)

11:00 - 12:00 Credible research with preregistration and reproducible workflows (Malika Ihle)

13:15 - 14:15 Open data to promote transparency and reproducibility (Dom Roche)



Day 2: Wednesday 28.09.2022

09:30 - 10:30 Meta-analyses and biases (Rose O'dea)

10:45 - 11:45 Bias against the null hypothesis and best practices in statistical design (Wolfgang Forstmeier)



Day 3: Thursday 29.09.2022

09:30 - 10:30 Research Data Management basics and LMU services (LMU RDM HelpDesk)

10:45 - 11:45 Open Access, Preprint, Postprint (Maximillian Frank)

Join the full course and learn how to:

  *   plan your statistical plans in advance of collecting data to prevent biases in analyses, with the help of preregistration and data simulation ;
  *   create reproducible workflows so you can spot your mistakes in your data wrangling or analyses, through version controlling your scripts ;
  *   share your data, materials, codes, and articles appropriately for your research to have more impact, by allowing others to build upon or replicate your work ;
  *   avoid common mistakes in statistics and avoid biases in meta-analyses.
