Dear Open Science enthusiasts

The ReproducibiliTea journal club is resuming its regular hybrid discussions this semester and welcomes researchers from any career stage and any discipline to discuss papers and ideas about improving science, reproducibility and the Open Research movement.
We will alternate between entry-level sessions and more advanced topics and meetings will take place on the following Fridays, always 14:30-16:00: 27.10., 03.11., 17.11., 01.12., 15.12., 12.01. Attached you may find the full programme (with all session topics and papers) and below are the details for the first introductory meeting.

Please sign up to the ReproducibiliTea mailing list (https://lists.lrz.de/mailman/listinfo/reproducibilitea) to stay up-to-date with the programme and receive meeting notifications with links / room information to join! You can also contact them with any questions: reproducibilitea.munich at gmail.com<mailto:reproducibilitea.munich at gmail.com>.

The first session is titled "Welcome to the Open Science Universe" and the paper for the session is "A manifesto for reproducible science" by Munafò et al. (https://www.nature.com/articles/s41562-016-0021). Note that, although it could be beneficial, there is no requirement to have read the designated paper.

When? Friday, 27th of October 2023, 14:30-16:00
Where? Hybrid: Room 3322 at Leopoldstraße 13 and via Zoom: Meeting ID: 862 732 7746 / Password: 347052 (https://lmu-munich.zoom.us/j/8627327746?pwd=alJhRi9ZZSs1U2pkN05mTTJYL0lSdz09)
What? Two members of the organising team, Laura Goetz and Gracia Prüm, will give an introductory talk on Open Science and the replication crisis and summarise the paper by Munafò et al. There will then be an open discussion where you can contribute your own thoughts and questions. Finally, there will be time to get to know each other and talk in smaller groups.

This entry-level session's primary goal is to welcome newcomers to these topics - so please circulate this to whom it may be relevant and feel free to spread the word in your lectures, exercises, seminars, etc. as well! Experts are also welcome to join; however, they may be even more interested in one of the advanced sessions (see attached programme).

Best wishes
Malika, on behalf of the ReproducibiliTea Munich team
