Online course: Iterative Solvers for Linear Systems and other courses by LRZ
Dear users of LRZ, There are still places available for the online course Iterative Solvers for Linear Systems, 08. 10.09.2021 The registration deadline has been extended to 1 Sept 2021. Prof. Andreas Meister taught this topic in the past annually at LRZ as part of a one-week compact course Iterative Linear Solvers and Parallelization and at many other locations within and outside Europe. This year we offer the course as a stand-alone 3-day online course for the first time. The focus of the course is on modern iterative solvers for large linear systems of equations. Thereby, beside classical schemes and fundamentals of multigrid techniques different modern Krylov subspace methods (CG, GMRES, BiCGSTAB ...) as well as highly efficient preconditioning techniques are presented in the context of real life applications. Hands-on sessions (MATLAB or GNU Octave) will allow users to immediately test and understand the basic constructs of iterative solvers. This course provides scientific training in computational science, and in addition, the scientific exchange of the participants among themselves. The course is organised by LRZ in cooperation with Uni. Kassel and HLRS.
