The FOR 2026 Conference invites contributions that critically examine and advance open research practices across disciplines and geographies. As open research gains traction, this event explores its challenges, inequities, and transformative
potential.
We welcome abstracts (max. 500 words) for presentations and posters from researchers, policymakers, civil society organizations, and institutional representatives. Topics include philosophy, ethics, AI, infrastructure, training, legal frameworks,
open research in the arts and humanities, and more.
A key outcome will be the Munich Manifesto for Equitable Open Research, co-developed during the event.
