Upd:Linux Cluster: UV available with restrictions

Status update Jan 17 16:15 Both ICE and UV systems are now available
 again. However, running Intel MPI programs on the UV does not work in
 many cases; this also may impact applications installed by LRZ.
 
 If you obey all of the following rules when using Intel MPI things may
 work:
 
   * Use version 4.1 of Intel MPI (module load mpi.intel/4.1)
   * Use 64 tasks or less
 
 We will continue investigation of this problem but cannot promise a
 quick resolution.
 
 Programs using sgi MPT are (to our present knowledge) not impacted by
 this problem.
 
 Please also note that the update work on the ICE was only partially
 successful; a separate maintenance window will be announced in a few
 weeks for completion of the updates.

 Dear users of the Linux-Cluster systems at LRZ,
 
 due to a necessary operating system update the ICE and UV systems will
 be unavailable for user operation for a few days. The maintenance
 starts on Monday, Jan 14 at 8:00. We expect the systems to be returned
 to user operation during the afternoon of Jan 16.
 
 Further changes that apply post-maintenance will be announced via this
 document.
