[ALI] Linux Cluster and SuperMUC: Software Stack Update Dec. 8

Dear users of HPC systems at LRZ,

A new release of the HPC software stack will be rolled out on December 8, 2015 at around 10:00 am. The following changes are noteworthy:
(1) Modules that were marked for retirement Nov 30 have been removed
(2) The modules intel/16.0, mpi.intel/5.1, itac/9.1, inspector_xe/2016, advisor_xe/2106 and amplifier_xe/2016 have been updated to Intel Parallel Studio 2016 Update 1.
(3) On phase 1 of the SuperMUC system, IBM MPI PE 1.3 has been reprovisioned. To use this version, please modify both your LL scripts and (for compiling applications) your login shell by loading the following stack
       module unload mpi.ibm poe
       module load poe/1.3    # or 1.3_hybrid
       module load mpi.ibm/1.3
     We recommend that this version should only be used for legacy binaries, and for I/O characterisation of Fortran codes via Darshan. No significant support from IBM can be obtained for it.
