Dear computational reproducibility enthusiasts,

Come along to talk about code, research tools, and open science in a social environment at our new monthly Hacky Hour
on the last Monday of each month, in person at Wikipedia Munich, Angertorstraße 3, Munich, from 16:30 to 18:00.

Each session will have a theme. If you have a related problem, bring it along to work on it and get help or pointers!
We will ensure that there is at least one knowledgeable person in the room, and a facilitator to keep things in check (and order pizza).

The first three sessions' themes and dates are:

  1. Hacky Hour: Improve the readability of your code, 29.01.2024<https://www.osc.uni-muenchen.de/news/hackyhour_1/index.html>, 16:30 to 18:00, Wikipedia Munich
  2. Hacky Hour: Version control, 26.02.2024<https://www.osc.uni-muenchen.de/news/hackyhour_2/index.html>, 16:30 to 18:00, Wikipedia Munich
  3. Hacky Hour: Literate programming, executable manuscripts, 25.03.2024<https://www.osc.uni-muenchen.de/news/hackyhour_3/index.html>, 16:30 to 18:00, Wikipedia Munich

There is no registration needed. Hacky Hours are for you to work on your implementation challenges with the help of others, for instance after having attended a workshop or having read a bit upon that tool/method.
We will strive to offer a workshop on the theme of the Hacky Hour in the weeks prior to that session, or start the session with someone sharing their tips.

We already have two workshop scheduled:

  1. Workshop: Version control, 15.01.2024<https://www.pretix.osc.lmu.de/lmu-osc/version-control/>, 13:30-16:30, hybrid, registration needed!!
  2. Workshop: Executable manuscripts with Quarto, 06.03.2024<https://www.pretix.osc.lmu.de/lmu-osc/quarto/>, 14:00-16:00, hybrid, registration needed!!
