Dear social scientists and students, The OSC is pleased to welcome Dr. Katarina Blask (Leibniz Institute for Psychology (ZPID)) to deliver the workshop: "FAIR data documentation in the social sciences - an online workshop providing hands-on guidance" When: April 30 2024, 09:00-13:00 Where: Online Registration: https://www.pretix.osc.lmu.de/lmu-osc/FAIR-soc-sci/ Transparency and openness in the research process are becoming increasingly important in all scientific fields - including the social sciences. Accordingly, researchers should not only make research results freely available, for example in the form of scientific articles (open access), but also provide research data, analysis scripts and study materials. However, the reusability of the data made available requires comprehensive research data management (RDM) on the part of the researchers. In particular, research data should be made available in accordance with the FAIR principles, meaning that research data should be Findable, Accessible, and usable (Interoperable and Reusable). In this workshop, you will learn about FAIR data management in the social sciences. Specifically, you will 1) create a data management plan and 2) get an introduction to FAIR data documentation. Target audience: PhD students and post-docs from the social sciences (e.g. psychology, sociology, anthropology, etc). However, interested students are also welcome. Prerequisites: There is no prior knowledge required on research data management or the implementation of the FAIR principles.
