ASA-Firewalls (Interne Netzdienste) Zwischen 7:30 Uhr und 7:45 Uhr kommt es durch das Umschwenken von ASA2 zu ASA1 zu wenigen Sekunden Unterbrechung. Am Donnerstag, den 25.10. um 13:00 Uhr wird im Gebaeude 4126 in Weihenstephan (Lebensmittelverfahrenstechnik) der Switch swg1-kqo ausgetauscht. Der Termin wurde auf Wunsch der Nutzer festgelegt. Vorankuendigung: Am Dienstag in der naechsten Woche (30.10.) um 7:45 Uhr wird beim Router csr1-0gz im LMU-Stammgelaende ein Software-Update durchgefuehrt werden. Upd:SuperMUC: scheduled maintenance Oct. 29-30

Changes to this message: Maintenance delayed from original schedule Dear users of SuperMUC, it has turned out that the needed maintenance measures not onlv involve updates on the compute nodes, but also in the storage and configuration infrastructure. Therefore we have decided to postpone the maintenance, as well as to extend it from one to two days. Between October 29, 8:00 and October 30, 18:00 the system will therefore be unavailable for user operation. During this maintenance configuration changes and software updates will be installed which should improve stability of both Intel and IBM MPI operation. An update for the GPFS file system will also be installed (although it is not expected that this update will solve all outstanding problems). Dear Colleague, We would like to invite you to "Hands-on Worksop: Amsterdam Density Functional (ADF)", a free-of-charge Workshop about capabilities of the molecular (ADF) and periodic (BAND) density functional theory codes. Fast, approximate quantum-based calculations with DFTB, ReaxFF and COSMO-RS will also be introduced. A single graphical user interface is available for all these codes from Scientific Computing & Modelling (SCM). It will be held at the Leibniz Computer Center on October 24th, 2012. Some systems are still offline and are being worked on, but submission and processing of jobs should work again. Apologies for the delay. Also, the login node lxlogin3.lrz.de (==lx64ia3.lrz.de) is not yet available (but the others are, see below). Please note that * the login nodes have new names lxlogin1, lxlogin2, lxlogin3. The old names (lx64ia2, lx64ia3) will continue to be available, however the "lrz-muenchen.de" in the fully qualified host names must be replaced by "lrz.de". Please also note that the ssh keys of the login nodes have changed; updated keys are available via http:// www.lrz.de/services/compute/linux-cluster/intro/#TOC4 * SGE is not available any more for job processing; it has been replaced by the SLURM scheduler.
