TUM Garching Maschinenwesen Gebaeudeteil 1 Zwischen 7:00 Uhr und 9:00 Uhr werden die Glasfaseranschluesse im Verteilerraum umgebaut. Dabei kommt es in den verschiedenen Stockwerken jeweils zu einer kurzen Unterbrechung. Es ist nicht auszuschliessen dass sich die Arbeiten bis nach 9:00 Uhr hinziehen. Stromabschaltung Schellingstr. 7 und 9 am Donnerstag Die LMU-Verwaltung hat mitgeteilt, dass am 24.10.13 zwischen 04:30 Uhr und 09:00 Uhr in den Haeusern Schellingstr. 7 und 9 der Strom abgeschaltet wird, um einen neuen Verteiler zu montieren. Linux Cluster Systems: partially unavailable on Oct. 28

Dear users of the Linux Cluster systems, due to the second stage of necessary works on the electrical infrastructure, a subset of the HPC cluster systems at LRZ will be unavailable for user operation on Oct 28, starting at 8:00 am. The systems impacted are: * Serial partition of the Linux cluster * Myrinet partition of the Linux cluster * some housed cluster partitions We have taken steps to assure that the operation of the network can continue without interruption; therefore we expect that all other cluster parts remain available for user operation. We ll keep you updated about the status of all cluster systems via this document. SuperMUC: scheduled maintenance Oct 28-31

Dear users of the SuperMUC petaflop system at LRZ, due to a combined hard- and software maintenance both the thin and fat nodes of the system will be unavailable for user operation starting in the early morning of October 28. It may be necessary to stop batch scheduling already on the preceding Sunday afternoon. We expect the system to be available for user operation again in the afternoon of October 31. The following changes are noteworthy: * both LoadLeveler and IBM PE will be upgraded to more recent bug-fix releases. These changes should be transparent to users, i.e. no recompilation of software should be needed. * due to a recenty identified bug, there is a minor change in the way energy tags must be configured if you wish to run your job at a non-default frequency. The documentation at http://www.lrz.de/ services/compute/supermuc/loadleveler/#energy has been accordingly updated. * When you renew your password using the ID portal (https:// idportal.lrz.de), you now have to confirm that your work and the results are compliant with the EU and German export and embargo regulations. Aenderungen an der Mitteilung: Update Die Stoerung des Routers wurde um 22:08 durch einen vollstaendigen Neustart behoben. Stoerungsbeginn war 20:08. Aufgrund eines Konfigurationsfehlers im Zuge des Netzumbaus beeintraechtigte der Routerausfall zwischen bis 20:35 auch die gesamte IPv6-Konnektivitaet des Muenchner Wissenschaftsnetzes. 1. Softwareupdate Firewalls Zwischen 7:30 Uhr und 8:00 Uhr wird auf den Firewallmodulen ein Softwareupdate eingespielt. In den betroffenen Subnetzen wird es zu ca. 10 Minuten Unterbrechung kommen. 2.
